inOn Tuesday we had dinner at the Whispering Canyon Cafe’ (whisper?! I don’t think so =). This is our 2nd time there so we knew what to expect. Here’s the deal. While there aren’t any “Disney” characters, there are “characters of a different kind, lol! Let’s just say that our dinner time was full of excitement.
Shortly after we were seated the table near us asked for Ketchup. Their server yells “ANYBODY HAVE ANY KETCHUP?” Then….guests from many tables appear with ketchup, lol!
This is our server. At one point I was out of tea. When I told her, she said “SO”! haha. But she did call my bff Mendie –
and then had everyone in the restaurant yell “Hi Mendie – we wish you were here”!
The food was wonderful…
Then Cierra went to restroom so this server picked up her phone and saw she had a missed call –
so decided to call them back, lol!
Can you tell he’s giving her a hard time?
Then – he thinks Chase needs some ‘girl’ advice =)
The girls wanted a picture but this server decided he wanted in there, too….
Let’s just say it was a really fun night! If you ever get a chance, check it out =)
And then…..after dinner, Chase took the boat back to the campground while we took the girls to Magic Kingdom….
I L O V E the ElectroMagic parade –
All the lights are so pretty! And the castle? Just perfect!
With the park open until 1 a.m. and all the ‘little’ kiddies sleeping, we were able to ride Thunder Mountain, the white water raft ride, It’s a Small World, Peter Pan’s Flight and the Pooh express =) ALL without lines! Yay us!
We closed it down but wow! it’s still a busy city!

Posted 2011 Myrtle Beach
infrom sunny Myrtle Beach!
We finished up our Disney vacation on Thursday and headed north to Myrtle Beach. This is one of our favorite campgrounds. It is in Longs, SC which is on the North Myrtle Beach end, about a half hour from the actual beach. As you can see from the pictures, the sites are very spacious and it’s just a beautiful place. Chase did ask why it was so cold here, lol. I guess 74 felt cold to him after Disney’s 90.
Notice anything about this picture?
Yep, RAIN! Our first and only rain of our trip. We were very blessed with beautiful weather =)
We made the best of the day by going shopping (I found the best ‘junk’ store!)
and then had lunch at Margaritaville –
Of course you just gotta have a margarita, right?!
The girls wanted Spring Break hoodies so we found Beach Bums
and after harrassing this guy for nearly an hour
we came away with the perfect sweatshirts and a LOT cheaper than Disney, ha!
and of course you can’t have a campfire without Smores…
We woke up to beautiful sunshine on Saturday and headed for the beach!
A few years ago some friends introduced us to finding shark teeth in the ocean so we were on a mission –
Ah ha! FOUND!
So all of them spent hours searching….
Not quite as many as last time but not too bad for a few hours…
While I enjoyed a Mango Madness….yummy!
Chase even said he was going to ‘be a kid again’ by playing in the sand =)
Oh look, we saw the Scooby Doo Mystery Machine on the way home, haha!
You will probably remember that Chase and a friend started a ‘business’ of painting Xbox controllers. Well….he has been keeping in touch while we’ve been away and at one point said he was SO far behind. Really?! Anyway, he needed to find a particular kind of paint and luckily we found it so he was able to get some work done.
Meanwhile Cierra ordered pizza for her, Chase and Zana.
I had announced it was ‘clean out the refrigerator’ night and I guess that didn’t sound very appetizing to them. Soon thereafter sure enough her pizza was delivered.
Zana spotted a fish that she said could be “dinner!”
The girls were pretty good at doing our laundry so headed over the bridge to the laundry room.
And after dark we heard some noise….
Yep, they stole the laundry cart!
Since it’s our last night on vacation we enjoyed a bottle of wine by the campfire for hours…..talking about the past 10 days and how we really weren’t ready to head home =(
But up again today to beautiful sunshine…it seemed really odd not to attend an Easter service but with our travel schedule, it just didn’t work out. So, one last picture then we hit the road.
We’ve all had a great time! Now, it’s back to games, work and whatever else the week brings. Gotta work to play so it’s all good!
PS I know I’m doing this backwards but….Disney trip posts will be up either tonight or tomorrow….working as we travel =)

Ok, let’s think about this…..is Disney responsible for these awful, smelly, annoying bugs!? Well….yesterday when we went to this show –
the STINK bug was one of the characters AND this show has been around since 1998, ha! It’s funny though, no matter how many times I see the show, those critters that crawl under my seat get me every time!
Check out our cool 3D bug shades, haha!
And then of course there’s lions and elephants and giraffe’s oh my!
Luckily we just rode along in this –
I’m sure by now you figured out we were at Animal Kingdom. We spent a few hours there then a few cheeseburgers later we headed here –
and ran into this guy, lol!
And since Kayden loves her Mr. Potato Head, we had to buy some accessories!
Yep, we filled our box with all kinds of good stuff =)
The Legos are always amazing and they had new displays since last year.
We finished up here –
then back home for our last night sleeping among Mickey and the characters for this trip =(
But hey, the vaca isn’t quite over…we’re heading to Myrtle Beach! Yay us!

inThese two were inseparable and I got tons of pictures. They hung out with us some and did their own thing, too. We were glad to have Zana along….
Many times I was asked how Cierra was able to take a friend on our Spring Break trip and Chase wasn’t. Well….there were two reasons. First and foremost it was because Zana, Cierra and Chase all get along really well. We don’t hear a ‘peep’ out of them and they all like the same food, games and fun. But the other reason was because no matter where we go, Chase always finds a friend (or two). This year was no exception.
Within the next 15 minutes, the same kid appeared right behind Chase.
Yep….these two became friends and were together every day. Ronnie tried to be funny with that picture and make it look like the Mickey “circles”, lol!
Chase was also up really early every day so he could make the most of his time in the campground with the other kids. Here’s a note I found one morning when I got up around 8:00 a.m. =) (hey, at least he’s resourceful)
Yesterday Graham went to one of the parks but when we went down to rent boats for Chase and Ronnie I noticed 2 girls following him. Hmmmm…well…I guess the two became four or five or six throughout the week.
Today when we left to head to Myrtle Beach Chase was pretty bummed but said his good-byes and hopped in the motorhome.
It turns out the girls are heading to Myrtle Beach, too. They live in Maine. Chase texted them the number for Willowtree Resort so who knows if they’ll end up there, too. Funny.
Oh and I can’t forget to share….Cierra and Chase began trading Disney pins 3 or 4 years ago. Cierra made friends with this lady over at Wilderness Lodge (she is ALWAYS there). We took this in 2009 –
Cierra definitely looks older but I’m thinkin’ Ignez looks about the same, ha!

inIt’s been a little hard to update my blog with three teenagers constantly on my laptop =) and….I promise to catch up but I have promised to post some pictures from “The Happiest Place on Earth” for “the sweetest little girl on earth”! So KAYDEN – these are just for you!
Here’s Chase with Daisy –
The girls with Stitch!
AND……Tigger and Pooh =)
Look at Poppy with Dale….
And then came Chip!
There’s Chase with Pluto, too!
Poppy and Gigi LOVE Mickey, lol!
Minnie is TOO cute =)
And Donald loved picking on Chase…
Goofy was squeezing Gigi, haha!
Oh and look! Minnie is kissing Chase….
Ok so that’s a quick update and pictures of the characters. We’re on a mission today to find Tinkerbell….can’t leave til we find her =)
We’ve been busy and are having lots of fun. I’ll share all the details later. I hope everyone has a great day AND…..Kayden…we LOVE you and can’t wait til you’re old enough to enjoy this wonderful, happy, warm place!

inis finally here! I’ve spent months planning, saving and preparing to make this trip another perfect one.
We left all our animals in the care of the one and only “Larry”, lol! We all know he’s the jack of ALL trades. We even left Java home this time and brought someone that hasn’t ever experienced “The Happiest Place on Earth”!
We left last night and drove to North Carolina….Roanoke Rapids. Zana got to experience her first night sleeping in a Walmart parking lot, lol!
We hit the road again this morning after our traditional ‘fresh donut’ and coffee. We made it to Florida around 3:00 p.m. and enjoyed some fresh Florida Orange Juice – Cheers!
According to the Garmin, we should hit Disney’s Fort Wilderness Campground around 7:00 this evening so we’ll see. We have already had one ‘minor’ set-back where we lost about an hour so we’re hoping for smooth sailing from here on out =)

We will miss him dearly and remember the happy times, the advice he gave us over the past 20+ years, the smile that was contagious. He fought a courageous battle and in the end succumbed to a disease that no one understands. So here’s to you Greg….you will forever be in our hearts and a part of our ‘team’.

Posted 2011 4H Projects
inCierra and Chase went with their 4H group last night on a visit to a local farm. As always it was fun and very interesting.
They got to see a 2 year old, 650 lb pig (who liked getting his picture taken =)
Some pretty unique “Freiberger” horses. Evidently there are very few of these in the United States –
A couple ‘bottle’ raised Southdown lambs –
A “momma and her baby” just chillin’ out while we toured the barn –
A cow that was curious about us….
Even a baby calf that was just born two days ago…
But the best sight of all was this!
This horse kept yawning so I was able to snap him in action. I’m thinking he might need some serious dentistry soon, lol!

inBut a little different –
Sunday was “opening day” for Summit Point Baseball and while that doesn’t typically mean anything new for Chase, it did for Cierra. You see this year, she wouldn’t be standing beside me as we watch Chase and Ronnie run across the field when their names are called. She wouldn’t be bundled up since it’s always colder at the highest point in our County. And she wouldn’t be sitting on the sidelines eating a cheeseburger and fries while we watch Chase play his game.
No. This year Cierra would be excited about Opening Day. She would wear shorts and a t-shirt….brrrr!
She would read these words to the crowd:
The Sportsmanship Code of Babe Ruth League, Inc.
Develop a strong, clean, healthy body, mind and soul.
Develop a strong urge for sportsmanlike conduct.
Develop understanding of and respect for the RULES.
Develop courage in defeat, tolerance and modesty in victory.
Develop control over emotions and speech.
Develop spirit of cooperation and team play.
Develop into real, true CITIZENS.
And she would be inside the fence…..
So maybe it was just a normal day for this guy –
He played his ‘normal’ position
And they even pulled off a victory their first game of the season!
May it be a GREAT season for all Baseball/Softball players!
